Chandod is one of the most holy and sacred place of Gujarat. It is situated 60kms east of Vadodara on the banks of river Narmada. Chandod is a famous for performing all sorts of rituals that are done after the death of an individual as per the Hindu religion. Such rituals are considered a must and very vital in the Hindu religion and if they are not performed, it is believed that the dead person shall never rest in peace after the death and his spirit will wander around, unsatisfied. Hence, this place is visited by many people for this reason. It houses many temples like Jeevan Sadhana, Ma Anandmayi and Gangeshwar Mahadev ashrams.
